Two arrests over Derbyshire church lead thefts

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of stealing lead from the roof of a Derbyshire church.

Police were called to the Methodist church, Main Road, Ridgeway, on Tuesday after a member of public reported two people acting suspiciously.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old youth and a 19-year-old man, both from Sheffield, on suspicion of theft.

A search was then carried out at one suspect's house and officers discovered lead and copper piping.
