Alvaston house party death: Man arrested

A man has been arrested over the death of a partygoer at a house in Derby.

A 26-year-old man collapsed at the party in Baker Street, Alvaston, in the early hours of Saturday. He died later in hospital.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to establish how the man, from Chaddesden, died.

Police have questioned a 23-year-old Allenton man on suspicion of supplying a Class A drug, and released him on bail pending further enquiries.

A second man who complained of feeling unwell at the party was taken to hospital but later discharged.
