Chesterfield FC will celebrate winning promotion from League Two with an open-top bus parade through the town.

Manager John Sheridan and his players will be driven from the club's stadium to a civic reception at Chesterfield town hall at 1830 BST on 12 July.

After meeting the mayor of Chesterfield and the leader of the borough council, the team will bring their trophy out on to the balcony.

It is hoped hundreds of local people will turn out to celebrate.

Councillor John Burrows, leader of Chesterfield Borough Council, said: "It's been a great achievement for the club this year and is a real boost to the town.

"We're delighted to welcome the team and management to the town hall and hope residents and fans, including those who may not have managed to attend the last game of the season, can take this opportunity to come along and join in the celebrations."

The club will be given their fixtures for next season on Friday morning.
