Alfreton library set to open after revamp

A Derbyshire library is set to reopen after 13 weeks and £120,000 of improvement work.

Alfreton library has had a new heating system, new reception area and two self-service terminals installed.

A spokesman from Derbyshire County Council said library users would also benefit from new stock.

Cabinet member for culture, Councillor Andrew Lewer added people could now take advantage of free wifi. The library will open on Tuesday.

"The work is part of our commitment to improving the lives of local people and I hope people will come and see the improvements, especially those who perhaps have not visited for a while," said Mr Lewer.
