Staveley police op tackles nuisance bikes

Police in part of Derbyshire say an operation to tackle nuisance bikes and off-road vehicles has resulted in a 60% drop in complaint calls.

Officers stepped up patrols in and around Staveley following an increase in the number of calls about people riding illegal motorbikes.

Police seized eight bikes and have issued 16 warnings.

In the last month, Derbyshire Police received 12 calls about bikes, compared to 32 in the month before the scheme.
