Cromford Road crash biker airlifted to hospital

A man was airlifted to hospital after the motorbike he was riding was in collision with a car on a Derbyshire road.

Police were called to Cromford Road in Wirksworth at about 14:20 BST on Sunday.

The 59-year-old man, who was riding a Suzuki 750 cc motorbike, was taken by air ambulance to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

The driver of the Dodge Magnum was not seriously injured.

Derbyshire Police described the biker's condition as serious but stable.

Anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle beforehand, has been asked to contact police.
