Somercotes attacker sought after man stabbed

Police in Derbyshire have appealed for information about an attack in which a man was stabbed five times.

Officers were called to an address in Nottingham Road in Somercotes at about 22:00 BST on Sunday.

They found a 19-year-old man in the garden with a stab wound to his back and four injuries to his legs.

He was taken to King's Mill Hospital in Nottinghamshire for treatment but has since been released. Forensic officers remain at the house.

A spokesman from Derbyshire Police said the house would remain cordoned off while tests took place and urged anyone with information about the assault to contact them.
