Attempted murder charge over Long Eaton stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder following the stabbing of a father and son in Derbyshire.

The 45-year-old man and his 16-year-old son were attacked in Waverley Street, Long Eaton, early on Saturday.

The teenager was released from hospital on Sunday while his father remains in a stable condition.

A 32-year-old is due to appear before magistrates in Derby on Friday. A 31-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Another 32-year-old man, arrested earlier on suspicion of attempted murder, has been bailed.

Two other people, a 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have also been bailed.
