Second man charged over Long Eaton stabbings

A second man has been charged with attempted murder over the stabbing of a father and son in Derbyshire.

The 45-year-old man and his 16-year-old son were attacked in Waverley Street, Long Eaton, on 20 August.

A 31-year-old man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Another man, aged 32, also charged with attempted murder, appeared before Derby magistrates on Friday.

A third man, aged 32, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been bailed.

Two other people, a 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have also been bailed.

The teenager was released from hospital the day after the attack while his father is in a stable condition.
