Inmate absconds from Sudbury open prison

A man serving a life sentence for murder has absconded from Sudbury open prison in Derbyshire.

Steven Blissett, 41, failed to return to the prison on Sunday after being released on a temporary license.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder in 1997 at Manchester Crown Court and is described as 5ft 8ins (1.73m) tall and of slim build.

His last known address was in Warrington. Anyone with information is asked to contact Derbyshire Police.
