A 21-year-old Derbyshire man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a Derbyshire woman found dead in woods earlier this year.

Jia Ashton, 25, was discovered with head injuries in Somercotes on 13 March after going missing while on her way home from her job at Thorntons.

David Simmonds, from Derby Road, Heanor, made his plea at Nottingham Crown Court by video link.

He will remain in custody until a trial in November.
