Chesterfield stabbing prompts Derbyshire Police appeal

A 35-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in the leg and buttock in Chesterfield.

Police said he was attacked by two men whilst walking along South Street North in the New Whittington area of the town at about 21:40 BST on Tuesday.

The victim was hit over the head, fell to the floor and was stabbed before the offenders ran off towards High Street.

One attacker is described as white with a grey padded jacket. The other is said to be Asian and was dressed in black.

Derbyshire Police have asked anyone who witnessed the attack to contact them.
