Ripley bar attack death: Police make third arrest

A third person has been arrested in connection with the death of a 48-year-old man following an attack at a Derbyshire bar.

James Gaunt was assaulted at The Crib Bar on Church Street, Ripley, at about 22:40 BST on Friday. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said Mr Gaunt's death was being treated as "suspicious".

Two other people arrested in connection with the attack remain in custody.

Detectives have appealed for anyone who witnessed a fight on the dance floor in The Crib Bar on Friday night to contact them.
