Man charged with murder of Richard Ziemacki in Derby

A 23-year-old charged with the murder of a Derbyshire man is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday.

The man, from Burton upon Trent, was remanded in custody after appearing at Derby and South Derbyshire Magistrates Court.

He is accused of murdering Richard Ziemacki, 30, from Chaddesden, who was attacked in Derby's Cornmarket in the early hours of Sunday.

Mr Ziemacki died later in hospital.

Another man, aged 25, and from the Burton upon Trent area, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of murder and is continuing to be questioned by Derbyshire Police.
