Man charged in Matlock library murder case

A 43-year Matlock man has been charged with murder after the death of a man whose body was found in the grounds of a library.

Alexander Blick, 42, of Matlock Bath, was found on Sunday morning on Steep Turnpike in Matlock.

Michael Carroll, of 19 Upper Green Hill, was remanded in custody at Chesterfield Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

He is due to appear again at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Blick died of head injuries, Derbyshire Police said.
