Plans for a £750,000 revamp of a Derbyshire town centre have been approved.

Amber Valley Borough Councillors agreed to the regeneration project in Ripley town centre at a meeting of full council.

The scheme includes improvements to shop fronts, paving and plans to boost the use of Ripley market.

A £150,000 walkway linking the town centre to Crossley Park is also due to be built.

The council said the scheme would also include major improvements to the paving and landscaping on Derby Road, Church Street and Grosvenor Road.
