Derby woman sexually assaulted while walking dog

A woman has been sexually assaulted while walking her dog near woods in Derby.

The woman was on a footpath off Wilmore Road at about 10:45 GMT on Saturday when she was pulled to the ground by a man and sexually assaulted.

The man is described as white, aged in his early 20s and with a front tooth missing.

Derbyshire Police have urged people who use the area to be vigilant and contact them with any relevant information.

Det Insp Tim Cadman said: "This area is very well used by dog walkers and joggers and we are keen to trace anyone who may have seen or heard something.

"It is also close to a major employer so it could be somebody on there way from or to work may have seen a man behaving suspiciously.

"This type of incident in broad daylight is very strange and we'd urge people who use that area to be vigilant."
