Four arrested in £700,000 Derbyshire VAT fraud inquiry

Four people from Derbyshire have been arrested on suspicion of stealing an estimated £700,000 through a VAT fraud and money-laundering scheme.

The raid followed an investigation into an alleged VAT repayment fraud involving land and property deals.

A man, 42, and woman, 40, both from Allestree, were arrested along with a Littleover man, 41, and a Shelton Lock woman, 47.

They are being questioned about the fraud allegations at police stations.
