A three-year-old girl has died following a crash between a car and a lorry on a Derbyshire road.

Police were called to the A50 near Findern, at 13:40 GMT on Monday, to a collision between a Nissan Qashqai and an Iveco lorry and trailer.

Lily Roberts, of Trusley Brook, Hilton, was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital for treatment but later died.

Her father, 35 and her 18-month-old sister suffered minor injuries. Officers have appealed for witnesses.

The westbound carriageway of the A50 was closed until 14:20 GMT and the eastbound carriageway reopened at about 18:20 GMT on Monday.

An inquest into Lily's death was expected to be opened on Tuesday afternoon.
