Teenage cyclist hit by bus in Derby seriously injured

A 16-year-old cyclist is in a stable condition in hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a bus in Derby city centre.

Firefighters freed the teenage boy from underneath the single decker bus on the Morledge at 19:35 GMT on Friday.

The cyclist was treated for multiple injuries at the Royal Derby Hospital. He has now been moved to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Police have asked anyone who saw the incident to contact them.
