River Derwent body man identified as Michael Gibson

A man whose body was found in the River Derwent in Derby has been named by police.

Michael Gibson, 48, of Alvaston, was reported missing to police in the early hours of Sunday, prompting a search.

His body was discovered in the water, near Meadow Road, at about 13:45 GMT the same day.

Officers have appealed for witnesses and said they were especially keen to hear from a group of men who may have been in the area on Saturday afternoon.
