Father remanded over murder of baby son in Derbyshire

A father has appeared in court charged with murdering his seven-month-old son in Derbyshire.

Police were called after the boy was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital on Tuesday.

The baby, from Waterford Drive in Chaddesden, was transferred to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham but died there on Wednesday night.

Nathan Pick, 37, also of Waterford Drive, was remanded in custody after appearing at Derby Magistrates' Court.

He is due at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday. Post-mortem tests on the boy will take place later.
