Derby Homes tenants given abuse warning

Abusive and violent tenants risk being evicted, housing provider Derby Homes has warned.

It comes after a woman used threatening language to staff at Allenton Local Housing Office.

Earlier this month in court she admitted racially aggravated harassment and was fined more than £200.

Derby Homes confirmed it has now served her a Notice of Possession Proceedings which will see her lose her property if she commits further offences.

A spokesman for Derby Homes said: "The tenant was abusive and threatening towards staff, using foul language and being racially abusive.

"She was asked to leave the office due to her aggressive behaviour but refused. As a result staff had no alternative but to call the police to have her removed from the building.

"Derby Homes will not tolerate abusive behaviour towards staff."
