Robbers threaten South Normanton man with 'handgun'

A group of men who broke through the door of a Derbyshire house and threatened the occupants with what appeared to be a handgun are being hunted by police.

The property on Peel Street, South Normanton was damaged on Saturday lunchtime after a 28-year-old man refused to hand over money.

A panel on the door was kicked through and threats were made with the weapon.

The victim called the police and the four men left the scene.

A man and woman were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail.

One of the offenders is described as being white, between 20 and 30 years old, of large build, with red hair.

Two other men were said to be black and both in their 20s, over six feet (1.8m) tall and of muscular build.

A description was not available for the fourth man, Derbyshire Police said.

Detectives have appealed for more information.
