Ladybower road crash victim fatally injured

A man died when he was hit by a car outside a pub in the Derbyshire Peak District, police have said.

A Honda CRv struck the pedestrian, who was 68 and from Sheffield, outside the Ladybower Inn on the A57 at Bamford, just before 21:30 GMT on Wednesday.

He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, Derbyshire police said.

It is the second fatal crash in a week on the A57, known in parts as Snake Pass, between Manchester and Sheffield.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
