Derby stabbing: Mateusz Kosecki, 18, charged with murder

An 18-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman in Derby.

Yvette Hallsworth was found on a service road behind houses on Hartington Street on Sunday morning.

Mateusz Kosecki, of Hartington Street, appeared at a magistrates court on Friday where he was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday.

A post mortem examination revealed the 36-year-old died of stab wounds.

Derbyshire Police previously said Miss Hallsworth, of Boyer Street, had been working as a prostitute in the area on Saturday night.

    Derby County are considering signing another striker on loan as cover for injured duo Darren Bentand Chris Martin.

    On-loan ex-England forward Bent (pictured) is expected to be out for up to a month with a hamstring tear sustained in Saturday's 2-0 loss at Fulham.

    Jonathan Hart, chief executive of Derbyshire-based chocolate firm Thorntons, is remaining positive despite a fall in sales and profits.

    He said: "We are well positioned to take advantage of an improvement in consumer spending."

    Pre-tax profit fell 8.8% to £6.5m, with sales down 8.2% to £128.2m in the 28 weeks to 10 January.
