Motorcyclist, 40, fatally injured in A52 crash named

A man who died after his motorbike was involved in a crash with a car in Derbyshire has been named by police.

Owen Pilkington, 40, of Ashlea Drive, in Mayfield, Staffordshire, was riding a motorcycle on the A52, near Brailsford, Derbyshire, on Friday when it collided with a 4x4.

Police said the motorcyclist appeared to have lost control and hit the car as it came out of Hall Lane.

He was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.

Derbyshire Police appealed for witnesses to contact them.
