Man killed in Hilton police chase

A 75-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car that was being pursued by police.

The pedestrian was killed in Main Street, in Hilton, Derbyshire, at about 16:50 BST on Tuesday.

Police said a 24-year-old man was in custody after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
