Torquay man pleads not guilty to murdering couple

A man charged with murdering two Devon pensioners in their Torquay home has appeared in court.

Odai Salah, 28, from Windsor Road, Torquay, pleaded not guilty to the double murder at Exeter Crown Court.

Mr Salah was charged with murdering Rosemary Windle, 72, and her partner Maurece Smith, 71, after their bodies were discovered on 11 January.

Mr Salah was remanded in custody. His trial is to begin in the autumn.
