Police investigating a rape on New Year's Day in Plymouth said a number of people had come forward following the release of a CCTV image of a suspect.

A woman was attacked in the Mutley area of the city in the early hours of 1 January.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall police said a number of lines of enquiry were being followed but the suspect had still not been identified.

There are currently 30 police officers working on the case.

The man police would like to speak to is described as dark-skinned, slim, aged 20 to 25, and 5ft 5in (1.65m).

He also had long hair in a corn-braid style.

The victim, who had been celebrating New Year with friends, was attacked in College Lane at 0415 GMT.

Her Blackberry mobile phone was also taken.
