Girl arrested in Torbay school teacher poison inquiry
A teenage school pupil has been arrested on suspicion of poisoning two teachers in Devon.
The teachers, from a school in Torbay, suffered stomach upsets but were not thought to have been seriously affected.
A kettle from the school's staff room has been sent away for forensic examination.
Devon and Cornwall Police said a 17-year-old girl from Cullompton was arrested and has been released on bail.
Det Con Steve Fleetwood said: "The inquiry centres on claims that a noxious substance may have been put in the kettle that caused two members of staff to fall ill with stomach problems."
In a statement released through the police the school, which has not been named, said it was conducting its own inquiry.
"The police are investigating if there is any substance to the allegations and we are conducting our own inquiry," a school spokesperson said.
