The estranged husband of one of two women found dead after a house fire in north Devon has denied their murders.

The bodies of Debbie Jones and Donna St John, both 35, were found in Fortmead Close, Barnstaple, on 22 August 2010.

Neil Langmead, 40, pleaded not guilty to killing his wife - Ms Jones - and her friend.

At Exeter Crown Court, Mr Langmead, of Convent Close, Barnstaple, also denied a charge of arson, being reckless as to whether life would be endangered.

He was remanded in custody and is due to next appear in court in June.
