A 23-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating an explosion which wrecked a Devon house and left two men with serious burns.

The blast in Trinity Street, Barnstaple in November 2010 was so powerful that debris was found 1,000ft (300m) away.

A man arrested early on Wednesday has been detained under mental health legislation, said Devon and Cornwall Police.

Officers are continuing their inquiries into the blast.

Walls were blown out and the roof blown off the house in the blast.

The injured men were treated at a specialist burns unit at Morriston Hospital in Swansea. Both are now out of hospital and recuperating.
