Cannabis worth £1m seized at Plymouth ferry port

More than 400kg of cannabis resin worth an estimated £1.1m has been seized at Plymouth Ferry Port.

A man and a woman from the West Midlands were arrested by UK Border Agency officers.

The seizure was made as the vehicle was driven off a ferry arriving from Roscoff in Brittany.

The man appeared at Plymouth Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody until 25 March. The woman, 44, was granted police bail.

The 62-year-old man is accused of suspicion of being involved in the importation of cannabis resin.
