Man accused of Torquay costume firm arson

A man has been charged in connection with a fire at a costume warehouse in Devon.

Thousands of items at Flame Torbay Costume Hire were damaged or destroyed by the fire early on Saturday morning.

Christopher Donnachie, 29, from St Andrew's Road, Paignton, appeared before Torquay Magistrates' Court charged with burglary and arson.

The costume firm specialises in supplying military uniforms and outfits for film and television productions.

Mr Donnachie has also been charged with two counts of possession of an imitation firearm, possession of ammunition and wearing a police article.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court via video link on 12 April.
