Brixham fisherman injured by acid fumes

A Devon-based fisherman has been airlifted to hospital after being injured by inhaling hydrochloric acid fumes on his boat.

Brixham Coastguard coordinated the rescue of the Brixham-based man, who was on board the vessel the Barentzee in the Channel.

A coastguard helicopter was scrambled from the Solent as part of the operation.

The 36-year-old man was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment.
