Two airlifted to hospital in Devon with spinal injuries

Two people have been flown to hospital in north Devon with spinal injuries after two separate incidents.

A woman was airlifted to North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple after sustaining a suspected spinal injury at Croyde Beach on Saturday afternoon.

And 17-year-old youth was airlifted by coastguard helicopter after suffering suspected spinal injuries in a surfing accident at Woolacombe.

Their conditions were not known, coastguards said.
