Nine arrested in Cornwall in money laundering inquiry

Nine people have been arrested in Cornwall on suspicion of illegally dumping waste and money laundering.

Seven men and two women are in custody at different police stations in the county.

Warrants were executed at eight locations in the St Austell area involving police and the Environment Agency.

Property and vehicles worth £1m have been seized as well as £127,500 in cash and money held in bank accounts.

The offences are said to have taken place in the Bugle area of mid Cornwall and police inquiries are continuing.
