Two rescued after 40ft cliff fall in South Devon
A man and woman have fallen 40ft (12m) off cliffs in South Devon after they tried to rescue their dog, coastguards have said.
The alarm was raised by a vessel at sea which saw two people at the bottom of cliffs near Meadfoot Beach in Torquay at about 13:00 BST.
Coastguards said the man, aged 53, had fractured his skull and the woman, aged 46, had minor injuries. The dog was unharmed.
The man was taken to hospital.
A coastguard team, lifeboat and the rescue helicopter from Portland were involved in the operation.
