Plymouth woman in 90s robbed by 'callous' burglars

A woman in her 90s has been targeted by two "callous" distraction burglars.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the men stole about £2,000 in cash and jewellery from the elderly victim at her home in Plymouth on Thursday morning.

They had claimed to be water board workers who needed to check her taps.

A police spokesman said it was a "cowardly and callous" act on an elderly lady and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

The burglary in Kings Tamerton Road happened at about 09:30 BST.

Both men are described as white and in their 40s. One is about 5ft 6in tall, thick set and spoke with a local accent. The second man was slightly shorter
