Animals rescued from fire at farm in Haccombe

More than 400 animals have been rescued from a fire at a farm in south Devon.

Four fire crews were called to the site in Haccombe near Newton Abbot on Monday evening at about 21:00 BST.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the animals were housed in a farm building which was alight upon arrival.

Firefighters rescued 200 ducklings, 150 ducks, 40 piglets, 13 pigs, three geese, three rabbits and two dogs. They said none of the animals were injured.
