A 66-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering a 20-year-old man at a party in north Devon.

Raymond Dupree, of Bishop's Nympton, is accused of stabbing Ryan King in the throat with a glass at Snurridge Manor near South Molton early on Sunday.

Mr King, the grandson of the property's owners, died later in hospital.

Exeter Magistrates' Court remanded Mr Dupree in custody to appear at Exeter Crown Court on 6 September.

The court was told when emergency services arrived at the house at about 03:30 BST on Sunday, Mr King was found with a stab wound on the left side of his neck.

He was taken by ambulance to North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple, but died from his wounds a few hours later.
