Parracombe man charged with murder appears in court

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his wife who was found dead near their Devon home.

David Thomas Leeman, 59, of Higher Cowley Farm, Parracombe, is accused of killing his wife, Jennie, near their home on Sunday.

Mrs Leeman, aged in her 40s, was found with gunshot wounds by police.

Mr Leeman appeared before Barnstaple Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. He was remanded in custody to appear at Exeter Crown Court on Friday.
