Trapped Cullompton machinery man named as John Stoddard

A man who died after he was trapped in machinery at a Devon paper mill has been named by police.

John Stoddard, 41, from the Cullompton area, was freed from the machinery and taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where he later died.

The incident happened at the Kings Mill industrial estate near Cullompton at about 09:15 BST on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the mill's owners, DS Smith Paper Ltd, confirmed an investigation had begun.
