Exeter police investigate three sexual assaults

Police in Exeter are investigating three suspected indecent assaults over the course of three days.

In each case, a man approached a lone woman and indecently exposed himself. An attempt was made to physically grab the women more than once, police said.

Two incidents took place in the Mount Pleasant area and one in Ducks Marshes playing fields between 03:00 BST on Wednesday and midnight on Friday.

Officers said they were not sure if the incidents were linked.

Det Sgt Charlie Craig, of Devon and Cornwall Police, warned people to be vigilant.

He said: "We don't want to cause unnecessary alarm or distress to women who may be out and about in the Exeter area, but we would urge women in particular to take sensible precautions.

"Be extra vigilant and, if you see anything suspicious, report it to us straight away by calling 999."

Officers have increased patrols in the areas at the times the incidents were recorded.
