Plymouth 'assaulted' baby jury is discharged

The jury in the case of a couple from Plymouth accused of assaulting their baby son has been discharged.

At Plymouth Crown Court Christopher Sheldon, 31, of Mount Batten Way, and Charlotte Sheldon, 23, of Sefton Avenue denied a charge of child cruelty.

The pair were arrested in October 2010 after marks were allegedly found on their baby son.

A new trial would be held be held in 2012 and the couple were released on bail at Plymouth Crown Court
