More than 20,000 jobless claimants in Devon
The number of people out of work and claiming jobseekers' allowance in Devon, Torbay and Plymouth was more than 20,000 in September.
The Office for National Statistics figure for the whole county was 20,048 people.
The Devon council area saw 9,556, 2.1% of the population, up 147 from August.
Torbay saw 3,457 people out of work, 4.3% of the population, up 50. In Plymouth, 7,035 were claiming, up 204 on August, 4% of the population.
The national unemployment rate in the UK is 3.9%.
