Plympton school path row: Public inquiry to be held

Proposals to close off a public right of way which runs through the grounds of a Plymouth school are to be decided on by the government.

Ridgeway School, in Plympton, wants Geasons Lane shut, saying it has been a magnet for anti-social behaviour.

Some local people have objected to the proposal, saying it should remain open.

The city council's planning committee decided a public inquiry should be held and the decision made by the secretary of state.

A date has yet to be set for the inquiry.
