Two hurt as car crashes into Okehampton shop

A main road in a Devon town has been closed after a car crashed through the front window of a shop.

The incident happened on Fore Street, in Okehampton, at about 11:20 GMT.

Two elderly people, the driver and passenger, have been taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The car crashed into accountants, My Business Centre. No-one else was believed to be injured. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

The road was closed for about two hours and was reopened at about 13:20 GMT.
