Immigration arrests in Devon after UK Border Agency raids

Eleven people have been arrested following a series of raids at Devon businesses between 3 and 5 January.

The UK Border Agency arrested four Bangladeshi men at Exeter's Red Rose restaurant on Thursday.

The agency required the help of the police helicopter after the men fled to the roof. They are being questioned.

A further seven people have also been arrested in separate raids. Businesses can be fined up to £10,000 if found to have employed people illegally.

Two men were found to be working illegally in the kitchen of the Silver King in Sidmouth and a woman was found at Napoli Pizza in Tiverton during the recent raids.

Three men found at the Paignton's Dada Indian Cuisine and another at Vindaloo in the town are also waiting to be removed from the UK.
